Intellectual property has always been of great interest to everyone, being the engine of progress and prosperity of a society.

With such an important role to play in people's lives, it is essential that we have information on the protection of intellectual property, the benefits of owning intellectual property rights and the repercussions of infringing those rights, from an early age.

"We are honoured to sign the collaboration protocol between the Ministry of Education, the Romanian Copyright Office and the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks, whose objective is to cooperate in order to carry out, during the school years 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023, an educational program entitled "Education and intellectual property", said Catalin Burcescu, Director General of OSIM. "OSIM has the mission to disseminate the information in the field of industrial property needed for the elaboration of the course support and auxiliary materials, for the optional subject " Education and intellectual property ", he added.

Razvan C. Pop, Director General of ORDA, also stated that “My main project, as Director General of ORDA, is the involvement of the Office in the education and development of youth, in terms of intellectual property. I hope that as many high schools as possible will take part in the "Education and Intellectual Property" program, raising awareness among students about the importance of observance of intellectual property rights and the benefits they can get from capitalizing on their creations and inventions being a major objective of this program.

This protocol is an essential step because it provides the necessary institutional framework and aims mainly at disseminating support materials in the field, for the teachers who will implement the "Education and Intellectual Property" program, conducting training sessions for teachers and conducting curricular and extracurricular activities, addressed to high school students.
